Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, successfully conducted a two-day Orientation Programme on July 31 and August 1, 2025, to welcome and induct the new batch of students for the academic session 2025–2030. The event marked the formal entry of the 10th B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) and 4th B.B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) cohorts into the University’s academic and co-curricular fold.
The Orientation Programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Chamarti Ramesh Kumar, Faculty Member and Deputy Registrar (Academics), who set an encouraging and enthusiastic tone for the incoming students. This was followed by a detailed presentation on the five-year academic roadmap by Dr. Jagdish Khobragade and Dr. Muktai Chavan Deb, Assistant Professors and Programme Coordinators.
Prof. Raman Tirpude, Assistant Professor of Management and Assistant Registrar (Academics)-I, introduced the University’s distinguished faculty, research associates, and administrative team. Key insights into academic and administrative functioning were shared by senior officials:
• Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Pratap Tiwari elaborated on the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC),
• Prof. (Dr.) Shilpa Jain outlined the Examination Regulations, and
• Dr. Madhukar Sharma described the General Administration framework.
Student welfare and residential life were addressed by Dr. Shaik Nazim Ahmed Shafi, Chief Warden-Boys, and Dr. Nitu Kumari, Faculty Warden-Girls. The University’s robust co-curricular ecosystem was highlighted in sessions led by Prof. Sanya Agarwal on Moot Court activities and Prof. Priti, Assistant Professor of Law, who introduced various Student Committees.
A key highlight of the programme was the inspiring address by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, who congratulated the students on securing admission to one of India’s premier legal institutions. He urged them to embrace the opportunities that MNLU Nagpur offers and acknowledged the unwavering support of Hon’ble Shri Justice B.R. Gavai, Chief Justice of India and Chancellor of the University. Prof. Kumar also recounted the remarkable growth and achievements of the University since its inception, expressing confidence in the bright future of its students.
The Orientation concluded with an interactive session that offered students and parents an open forum to engage with faculty and university leadership. Shri Deepak L. Bhagwat, Registrar of MNLU Nagpur, formally concluded the programme with a Vote of Thanks.
