Government Positive About Resolving Issues of Government

The government is positive about filling the vacant teaching and non-teaching posts in Government Vidyaniketan schools, as well as resolving other issues, said Ranjit Singh Deol, Principal Secretary of the School Education Department.

A meeting was held at Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Deol, as per the instructions of School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, to discuss various issues concerning Government Vidyaniketan schools. Present at the meeting were School Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh, Examination Council Commissioner Nandkumar Bedse, Joint Secretary Moin Tasildar, Deputy Secretaries Sameer Sawant and Tushar Mahajan, Director of Education Sharad Gosavi, principals of all Vidyaniketan schools, former students, and other officials.

Government Vidyaniketan residential schools were established in 1966–67 based on the vision of the then Education Minister Madhukarrao Chaudhary, to ensure the physical, intellectual, and mental development of talented students in rural areas. Currently, these schools operate in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Dhule, Pusegaon (Satara district), Amravati, and Kelapur (Yavatmal district). Every year, 40 meritorious students are admitted through a scholarship examination.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on filling vacant teaching and non-teaching posts, regularly increasing the food allowance for students, starting 11th and 12th standard classes, introducing semi-English medium, allocating funds for repairs to school and hostel buildings, providing funds for purchasing new cots, cupboards, mattresses, bedsheets, and benches at regular intervals, increasing the income limit for parents for school admission, updating the school’s operation handbook, making improvements in the governing board, and organizing regular meetings. Principal Secretary Deol issued instructions to take immediate action on these matters.
