Structure of the Mathematics Paper

Another calculus question involves first-order differential equations, where solutions of two differential equations are compared using given initial conditions. The question then asks for the value of time at which both solutions become equal, testing conceptual clarity rather than heavy calculation.
Circles and Straight Lines
A geometry question involves four points lying on a circle, where the value of a parameter is to be determined. This tests understanding of the general equation of a circle and conditions for concyclic points.
Another problem focuses on straight lines in the first quadrant, where a line segment is trisected by two lines passing through the origin. Students are required to find the tangent of the angle between those lines, testing ratio concepts and slope interpretation.
Statistics and Data Interpretation
The paper also includes a question from statistics, where mean and sum of squares of observations are given. Using this data, students are asked to find the standard deviation of the observations. This is a direct but concept-based question that rewards familiarity with standard deviation formulas.
Level and Nature of Questions
