BHEL Recruitment 2026: 660 Artisan Posts for ITI Candidates

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced 660 vacancies for Artisan Grade IV posts under its latest recruitment drive. The opportunity is aimed at candidates who have passed Class 10 and hold the required Industrial Training Institute (ITI) qualification and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade.

The 660 vacancies are distributed as follows: Fitter has 278 posts, Welder 104, Machinist 101, Electrician 90, Turner 52, Electronics Mechanic 23 and Foundryman 12. The positions are spread across nine manufacturing units in different parts of the country.

Candidates generally need to have passed Class 10 and possess both an ITI/National Trade Certificate (NTC) and a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade. The prescribed minimum marks are 60% for General, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, and 55% for SC and ST candidates, subject to the detailed notification. The general upper age limit is 27 years, calculated as of 1 October 2026. The limit is 30 years for OBC-NCL candidates and 32 years for SC/ST candidates, with other applicable relaxations as specified in the recruitment rules.

During the initial temporary period of one year, selected candidates are expected to receive approximately ₹24,000 per month. Following successful regularisation, the advertised pay scale is ₹29,500 to ₹65,000, along with applicable allowances and benefits, according to the recruitment terms.

The selection process includes a computer-based examination, followed by a skill test and document verification as prescribed. The computer-based examination is tentatively scheduled for 11 December 2026. Candidates should check the official portal for any changes to the examination date or selection arrangements.
