ED Recruitment 2026: For 132 Assistant Director and Additional Director Posts

ED Recruitment 2026: For 132 Assistant Director and Additional Director Posts

For those who regularly track job opportunities with the Enforcement Directorate (ED), two significant recruitment notifications have been released for 2026. Issued by the Department of Revenue under the Union Ministry of Finance, these notifications announce the filling of a total of 132 posts within the ED: 114 for Assistant Director of Enforcement and 18 for Additional Director of Enforcement.

However, it is important to clarify at the outset that these are not instances of direct open recruitment for general job seekers; instead, eligible officers currently serving in specific government bodies and allied institutions will be appointed on a deputation basis.

Although these are two separate notifications, both have been issued to recruit officers on deputation to fulfil various key responsibilities of the Enforcement Directorate.

The first notification lists 114 vacancies for the post of Assistant Director of Enforcement. These positions are to be filled across various offices of the Enforcement Directorate, with the notification mentioning multiple locations across India. Any vacancies arising in the future may also be covered under the scope of this circular.

On the other hand, the second notification announces 18 vacancies for the post of Additional Director of Enforcement. It further states that the number of vacancies may increase or decrease during the recruitment process, and such changes would also fall under the purview of the circular. In essence, the two notifications collectively account for a total of 132 deputation vacancies within the ED for the year 2026.

How to Apply for ED Recruitment 2026?

The most crucial aspect of this recruitment drive is the application process; it differs from standard online recruitment procedures. Eligible and interested officers must submit their applications to the Director, Directorate of Enforcement, through their respective Cadre Controlling Authorities.

For the post of Assistant Director, the designated address for submission is: Director, Directorate of Enforcement, Block-A, Pravartan Bhawan, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi-110011.

Similarly, the notification for the post of Additional Director stipulates that eligible officers must submit their applications—using the prescribed proforma—to the Director, Directorate of Enforcement, Pravartan Bhawan, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi, through the Cadre Controlling Authority.

In other words, these notifications do not allow candidates to submit applications directly online, as is common with standard job applications. Following to the departmental channel and obtaining the necessary clearances are of paramount importance in this process.

Several important departmental documents must be submitted along with the application. Both notifications require essentially the same set of documents.

Key documents include:

  • Bio-data
  • Complete and up-to-date ACR/APAR dossier for the last five years
  • Attested photocopies of the relevant APARs
  • Vigilance Certificate/Clearance
  • Integrity Certificate/Clearance
  • Cadre Clearance
  • A statement regarding any major or minor penalties imposed during the last 10 years

Although these two notifications are distinct, the application must reach the Director, Directorate of Enforcement, within 30 days of the notification's publication. In other words, the application process must be completed within that 30-day window.

However, for applications received through the Cadre Controlling Authority along with all necessary documents, the department will determine a specific cut-off date, and only applications received by that date will be considered for selection.
