Mega Recruitment Drive Announced in Maharashtra’s Education Sector, CM Fadnavis Gives Green Signal
In a major move to address the severe shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff in higher education and technical institutes, the Maharashtra government has launched a historic Mega Recruitment Drive. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in a press briefing on Tuesday, approved the recruitment of 7,254 positions across the state.
A New Lifeline for Higher Education
The CM stated that the government is working in mission mode to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 effectively. As part of this initiative, recruitment will soon begin for 5,012 Assistant Professors and 2,242 non-teaching staff across public universities and grant-in-aid colleges.
“Our government is committed to delivering quality education,” Fadnavis said. “Filling long-pending vacancies in educational institutions is a top priority. This Mega Bharti (recruitment drive) will bring significant change under NEP.”
Boost for Engineering Colleges
• All government-aided engineering colleges have received approval for 100% staff recruitment. • Notable institutes include VJTI Mumbai and Guru Gobind Singh Engineering College, Nanded.
The government also announced that universities will be allowed to begin recruitment processes immediately, ensuring full transparency at every stage.
