The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is fully geared up to conduct the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for 2026 with enhanced security arrangements. With lakhs of students expected to appear, the board has focused strongly on ensuring fair, transparent and malpractice-free exams. The examinations will be held from February 18 to March 12, 2026, across thousands of centres in the state.
I am writing about this update because board exams are a major milestone for students, and any uncertainty regarding schedules or safety can increase anxiety. Knowing the exam dates, shift timings and security arrangements in advance helps students and parents prepare better and stay confident.

Why Security Has Been Tightened
UPMSP has decided to strengthen security to prevent:
- Question paper leaks
- Use of unfair means
- Impersonation
- Disruptions at exam centres
The goal is to ensure that every student gets a fair chance based on merit.
Key Security Measures at Exam Centres
The board has introduced several steps, including:
- CCTV surveillance at sensitive exam centres
- Live monitoring from control rooms
- Deployment of flying squads
- Strict frisking of candidates
These measures will help maintain discipline and transparency.
Digital Monitoring and Control Rooms
Control rooms at district and state levels will monitor exam centres in real time. Any suspicious activity can be addressed immediately. This system makes the examination process more accountable.
Instructions for Students
Students are advised to:
- Reach the exam centre well before reporting time
- Carry admit card and valid ID
- Avoid bringing mobile phones or electronic devices
- Follow instructions of invigilators
Failure to follow rules may lead to disqualification.
Role of Parents and Schools
Parents and schools also play an important role. They should:
- Ensure students know their centre location
- Encourage timely preparation
- Discourage shortcuts or unfair practices
A calm and supportive environment at home helps students perform better.
How These Measures Benefit Students
From my perspective, strict security is not meant to scare students but to protect honest candidates. When exams are conducted fairly, students can trust that their hard work will be rewarded.
