A World Class Private University is Coming Up in Maharashtra

A major transformation in higher education is set to open in Maharashtra. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, has announced the establishment of a new state Private University in the state, likely to be a hub for world-class education and research.

Having already received approval from the Maharashtra government, the university will offer courses in fields such as AI, law, architecture, medicine, management, and more. Its permanent campus will be developed on a 410-acre site.

Mukesh Ambani announced this ambitious project at the 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries. He stated that as India advances towards joining the ranks of developed nations, there is a need for more Indian universities capable of competing with the world's best.

He expressed hope that the new university would play an important role in achieving this goal. An temporary campus is already operational in Ulwe, featuring modern academic, residential, and sports facilities.

The university's permanent campus will be established in the Dronagiri area of ​​Maharashtra. Spanning approximately 410 acres, the campus is planned to be developed not only as an educational hub but as a comprehensive knowledge and research city.

The campus will feature an Academic District, Research Park, Sports District, Medicity, Arts District, Innovation and Incubation Park, and residential zones. Through this, students will gain opportunities for research, innovation, and entrepreneurial activities, extending beyond traditional classroom-based learning.

A total of seven specialised schools will be established at the new university. These are:

• Engineering and Computing
• Management and Entrepreneurship
• Law and Policy
• Humanities and Social Sciences
• Medical Science and Public Health
• Architecture and Urban Planning
• Education

Education at the undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and postdoctoral levels will be provided through these schools.

A key attraction of the university will be education driven by artificial intelligence and modern technology. In today's world, AI is rapidly transforming various industries and the nature of employment. Therefore, keeping the demands of the future workforce in mind, special emphasis will be placed on technology and innovation at this university.
