Bombay High Court Appoints Judges from Nagpur and Aurangabad for Fast-Track Trial of Paper Leak Cases

Mumbai: In a significant move to speed up the disposal of paper leak cases in Maharashtra, the Bombay High Court has designated two District and Sessions Judges to preside over special fast-track courts dedicated to such offences.

The High Court has appointed Judge Gulshan Kolte from Nagpur and Judge S. V. Pawar from Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) to hear paper leak cases in the newly designated fast-track courts.

The decision is aimed at ensuring the speedy trial of pending paper leak cases and strengthening the judicial response to examination-related offences. In recent years, several recruitment and competitive examinations have been affected by paper leak incidents, raising serious concerns among lakhs of aspirants across Maharashtra.

With the establishment of these special courts, paper leak cases will now be taken up on priority, helping accelerate judicial proceedings and ensuring timely prosecution of the accused.

Legal experts believe that dedicated fast-track courts will improve the efficiency of the justice delivery system while reinforcing transparency and public confidence in the examination process.

The Maharashtra government has already adopted a strict approach towards paper leak offences through enhanced investigations and prosecution. The Bombay High Court’s latest decision is expected to further strengthen the State’s efforts to ensure the swift resolution of such cases and uphold the integrity of public examinations.
