Maharashtra is Establishing a New Government Engineering College in Solapur

The Government of Maharashtra has approved the establishment of a new Government Engineering College in Solapur. It is reported that the admission process for this college may start as early as the 2026-27 academic session. This institution will be administered under the State's Department of Higher and Technical Education. For a long time, students from Solapur and neighbouring districts have felt the lack of a government engineering college. With the launch of this new college, numerous students will have the opportunity to follow technical education within their own district at an affordable cost.

The Maharashtra government has stated that this decision was taken with the aim of expanding opportunities for technical education across various districts of the state.
