Major Relief in the CET Admission Process: Student Help Centres Are Opening Across 36 Districts of Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government has launched a significant initiative for students. Student Help Centres are being established in every district of the state to provide information and assistance regarding the Common Entrance Test (CET), the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), scholarship schemes, and general admission procedures.

Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil announced that a total of 40 such centres will be set up across the state's 36 districts, enabling students to quickly and easily access accurate information regarding admissions.

Maharashtra's Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil, announced on social media that the work of setting up student help centres across the state through the CET Cell is progressing rapidly. The progress of this project was recently reviewed during a meeting. The Minister stated that these centres would play a crucial role in resolving students' admission-related issues.

According to government data, a total of 40 student help centres will be established across 36 districts of Maharashtra; work on 26 centres has already been completed, 6 are in the final stages, and construction on the remaining centres is proceeding rapidly. The government expects all centres to become operational very soon.

At these centres, students will receive various information and assistance regarding admissions. This includes details on the CET admission process, guidelines for CAP counselling, information on various scholarship schemes, assistance with document verification, instructions on the online application process, and advice on college selection and admission. So, students will not need to visit multiple offices.

The government has launched this action with a special focus on students from rural and remote areas. Often, there is a lack of information regarding admissions, requiring students to travel to cities to gather details, a process that consumes extra time and money and can lead to complications due to incorrect information. The introduction of new help centres will significantly help these issues.

The Maharashtra State CET Cell is responsible for implementing this scheme. This body conducts admission processes for various professional courses, organises entrance examinations, manages the CAP process, and issues admission-related guidelines to students. Student help centres will also operate under the supervision of the CET Cell.

Several senior officials from the Department of Higher and Technical Education were present at this important meeting. Among them were B. Venu Gopal Reddy, Dilip Sardesai, Dr. Shailendra Deolankar, and Dr. Vinod Mohitkar. Other officials from the concerned department were also present.
