TISS Recruitment 2026: 16 Non-Teaching Posts, Apply by November 9

TISS Recruitment 2026: 16 Non-Teaching Posts, Apply by November 9

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has invited online applications for non-teaching positions across its campuses in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad. The recruitment drive includes posts such as Deputy Registrar, Deputy Librarian, Assistant Librarian, Assistant Registrar, System Analyst-cum-Programmer, Health Officer and Section Officer.

Although the newspaper clipping mentions 14 vacancies, the detailed official notification lists 16 posts across 11 categories. Eligible Indian candidates can submit their applications online by 9 November 2026.

This recruitment offers opportunities to candidates from different professional backgrounds, including administration, library science, computer technology, healthcare, social work and counselling. These are not entry-level jobs in every case. Several positions require postgraduate qualifications and substantial work experience, while some have specific professional or technical requirements.

Applicants should therefore check the detailed eligibility conditions before choosing a post. It is also important to follow the official application instructions rather than relying entirely on the information printed in the newspaper.

According to TISS Advertisement Reference No. TISS/NON-TEACHING POSITIONS/2026/02, the institute has announced 16 vacancies across 11 categories. The positions are distributed among its campuses in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Tuljapur and Guwahati.

The available posts include Deputy Registrar, Deputy Librarian, Assistant Librarian, Assistant Registrar, Assistant Manager (Publications), System Analyst-cum-Programmer, Health Officer, Field Work Coordinator, Counsellor, Section Officer and Section Officer (Security).

The vacancy count needs clarification. The official notification shows 14 unreserved vacancies and two OBC vacancies, taking the total to 16. Therefore, the figure of 14 mentioned in the newspaper headline does not represent the complete number of vacancies.

The educational qualifications and experience requirements vary considerably. Deputy Registrar applicants need a relevant master's degree with the prescribed marks and significant academic or administrative experience. Deputy Librarian and Assistant Librarian candidates must have qualifications in Library or Information Science, while the Assistant Registrar posts require a master's degree.

The System Analyst-cum-Programmer position requires a relevant postgraduate qualification in computer science or information technology, along with professional experience. The Health Officer post requires an MBBS degree, medical registration and relevant hospital experience. Other positions have specific requirements related to social work, counselling, publications, administration and security.

The maximum age limit also depends on the post. For example, the notification specifies 50 years for Deputy Registrar and Deputy Librarian, while several other positions have limits of 40 or 45 years. Applicable age relaxation will be provided according to government rules.

The application process is entirely online. Candidates must visit the official TISS website, find the non-teaching recruitment notification and complete the application form for their chosen position. Applicants should enter their details carefully and upload the required educational, experience and category certificates.

The application fee is ₹2,000 for General category candidates, ₹1,500 for OBC, EWS and women candidates, ₹1,000 for SC/ST candidates and ₹500 for PwBD applicants. The notification states that the fee is non-refundable. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate applications.

The last date for online application is 9 November 2026. Candidates should complete the process before the deadline and regularly check the institute's website for shortlisting, written test or interview updates.

One detail in the newspaper clipping also needs attention: it mentions an interview address in Pune belonging to another institution. The official TISS notification identifies the institute's main address as VN Purav Marg, Deonar, Mumbai, and instructs candidates to apply online. Applicants should follow the official TISS notification rather than the address printed in the clipping.
