Delhi University Recruitment 2026: 8 TGT and Assistant Teacher Posts

Delhi University has opened applications for eight teaching positions at its CIE Experimental Basic School, offering opportunities for candidates interested in school-level teaching. The recruitment notification, issued under Advertisement No. R&P/324/2026, includes two posts for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) and six for Assistant Teachers at the primary level.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the university's official website. The last date mentioned in the notice is November 18, 2026, subject to a condition linked to the publication of the advertisement in Employment News.

The recruitment is particularly relevant for candidates who have completed a bachelor's or master's degree along with the required teacher-training qualification. However, simply holding a degree may not be enough, as the university has specified subject-related conditions and minimum marks requirements.

TGT applicants must also have qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). With applications being accepted for different teaching categories, candidates should carefully check the requirements before submitting their forms.

The eight vacancies include two TGT positions at Pay Level 7 and six Assistant Teacher (Primary) positions at Pay Level 6. The TGT recruitment covers subjects such as English, Social Science, Mathematics, Science, Sanskrit and Sports. The university will consider candidates according to the relevant subject and category requirements, with merit prepared on the basis of the prescribed criteria.

For TGT positions, applicants must fulfil one of the educational qualification routes mentioned in the advertisement. Under the first option, candidates should have a bachelor's degree in the concerned subject from a recognised university, securing at least 50 per cent marks. They must also have studied the relevant subject for a minimum of two years.

Candidates with a master's degree in the concerned subject may also be eligible, provided they meet the prescribed minimum marks requirement in their bachelor's or master's degree. In addition, applicants must hold a B.Ed. degree or a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. qualification from a recognised institution.

The notification also accepts certain four-year integrated teacher-training courses, including B.El.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed., B.A. B.Ed. and B.Com. B.Ed., from recognised institutions. A valid CTET qualification conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education is compulsory for candidates applying for TGT posts.

The university issued the recruitment advertisement on October 28, 2026. The application deadline is November 18, 2026. However, the notice clarifies that if the advertisement appears in Employment News later than October 28, the closing date will be two weeks from its publication, whichever is later.
