The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a recruitment drive for 22 Pharmacist positions on a contractual basis at its dispensaries in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The opportunity is open to candidates holding a B.Pharm or D.Pharm qualification who meet the prescribed registration and experience requirements. Selected candidates will receive remuneration of ₹600 per hour, with a maximum of five working hours a day. Unlike regular bank recruitment, these appointments will be made for a fixed period under a contract.
This recruitment may interest qualified pharmacists who want to work with one of India's leading financial institutions. However, candidates should understand that these are not permanent RBI jobs. The appointment will be for a maximum of 240 days, and the notification does not provide for regular employment or additional allowances. The application deadline is also very close: completed applications must reach the designated RBI office by 5 pm on 3 November 2026. Those planning to apply should check the eligibility conditions and prepare their documents without delay.
A total of 22 vacancies are available for pharmacists to work at RBI dispensaries in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The appointments will be made on a contractual basis, and selected candidates will be paid according to the number of hours they work.
The remuneration is fixed at ₹600 per hour. A pharmacist working for the maximum five hours a day can earn up to ₹3,000 daily. There is no separate provision for additional allowances under this arrangement. The contract can continue for a maximum of 240 days, depending on the bank's requirements. The appointment will not create any right to a permanent or temporary position at RBI.
Candidates must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognised university or institution. Applicants must also be registered pharmacists under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, with registration from the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council. A minimum of two years of work experience as a pharmacist is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked with a public sector bank or government institution.
The bank will assess applications based on educational qualifications, relevant work experience and the distance between the candidate's residence and the dispensary. Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview. Their medical fitness and original documents will also be verified as part of the selection process.
Unlike online recruitment drives, candidates must submit their applications in a sealed envelope by post or in person. The envelope should clearly mention that the application is for the post of Pharmacist on a contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration.
Applications must be addressed to:
The Regional Director,
Human Resource Management Department,
Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai Regional Office,
Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Fort,
Mumbai – 400001.
The completed application must reach the above address on or before 5 pm on 3 November 2026. Candidates should use the prescribed application format mentioned in the official notification. Applications submitted in any other format may be rejected.
Interested applicants should read the complete recruitment notification on the RBI website before sending their documents. Since the deadline is approaching, candidates should allow sufficient time for postal delivery.
