The Tribal Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, has officially announced the much-awaited Teacher Recruitment 2026 for filling vacant teaching positions in government Ashram Schools across the state. According to the recruitment notification, 2,421 vacancies have been announced for Primary, Secondary, and Higher Secondary Teachers, and eligible candidates can apply through the online application process.
The recruitment will be conducted for government Ashram Schools located under the Nashik, Thane, Amravati, and Nagpur divisions. Vacancies are available in both PESA and Non-PESA areas.
As per the notification, the recruitment includes posts for Primary Teachers, Secondary Teachers, and Higher Secondary Teachers (Shikshan Sevak). Candidates possessing the prescribed educational and professional qualifications are eligible to participate in the recruitment process.
Among the notified vacancies, the highest number of posts has been announced for Primary Teacher (Marathi Medium – Non-PESA) with 862 vacancies, followed by 436 posts for Primary Teacher (Marathi Medium – PESA), 352 posts for Secondary Teacher (Marathi Medium – Non-PESA), 251 posts for Higher Secondary Teacher (PESA), and 106 posts for Higher Secondary Teacher (Non-PESA). The notification also includes vacancies for English-medium teachers and various subject-specific teaching positions.
The online registration process has commenced from August 6, 2026. The department has informed candidates that the facility to generate preference options is available from August 6, while the preference locking process can be completed between August 6 and August 11, 2026.
