The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education has introduced a revised ‘K Scheme’ curriculum, which is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

This updated curriculum incorporates an outcome-based credit system, bilingual examinations in Marathi and English, as well as subjects such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, Drone Technology, and Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology.

It is expected that, as a result, students will be better prepared for the future technology sector. Technical diploma courses are no longer only a component of traditional engineering education; rather, they now play a main role in facilitating direct industry employment.

According to Minister Chandrakant Patil, diploma courses cultivate industry-ready skills, enhance opportunities for entrepreneurship, facilitate job learning through campus placements, and create routes for lateral entry into higher engineering education. He further noted that certain industries are offering diploma graduates salaries of up to ₹1 lakh per month.

In the current job market, theoretical knowledge alone is not sufficient. Therefore, special focus has now been placed on practical skill development within diploma education. These new initiatives include: 12-week industrial training, Micro-projects, Capstone projects, Centres of Excellence, and E-Yantra Labs.

Students can obtain information regarding the admission schedule, registration process, and other details from the official website. The admission process is typically completed through the following stages: online registration, document verification, publication of the merit list, choice filling, and seat allotment.
