Mumbai: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has issued a revised notification introducing several changes to the Maharashtra State Services Preliminary Examination 2026. The amendments include an extension of the application deadline, revisions to the recruitment process, and updates related to eligibility criteria for the Gram Mahasul Adhikari (Talathi) post, PESA area reservations, and provisions for Ex-servicemen.

According to the revised schedule, candidates can now submit their online applications until 10 August 2026, 11:59 PM, while the deadline for online payment of the examination fee has been extended to 13 August 2026, 11:59 PM. The Commission has also discontinued the challan payment system. Examination fees will now be accepted only through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

The revised notification also updates the recruitment details, stating that a total of 6,507 vacancies across various departments will now be filled through the Maharashtra State Services Preliminary Examination 2026. Necessary amendments have been incorporated into the original advertisement accordingly.

The Commission has also revised the eligibility provisions for the Gram Mahasul Adhikari (Talathi) post. For this recruitment, the age limit will be calculated as on 10 August 2026. In addition, changes have been made to the classification of vacancies in the PESA areas of Chandrapur district.

Candidates applying for posts reserved under the PESA category will be required to submit the prescribed domicile and Scheduled Tribe certificates. These documents will be verified during the recruitment process, and applicants must furnish all relevant details accurately while submitting their online applications.

The revised notification also incorporates changes concerning Ex-servicemen. Eligible candidates are required to provide the prescribed information and supporting certificates during the application process. The online application system has been updated to facilitate the submission of these details.

MPSC has further clarified that candidates who have already submitted their applications can update the required information through the ‘My Account’ section of the online application portal. All certificates and supporting documents will be verified before the final selection process. Any discrepancy or submission of incorrect information may lead to cancellation of candidature in accordance with the applicable rules.
