The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2027. According to the official notice dated 6 November 2026, the examinations will begin on 16 February 2027 (Tuesday). The board has published the schedule well in advance, giving students enough time to organise their preparation. Class 10 students will appear in 83 subjects, while Class 12 examinations will cover 121 subjects.
The early announcement is particularly helpful for students who are preparing for their first major board examination or planning to appear for Class 12 alongside entrance tests. Knowing the examination schedule in advance allows students, parents and teachers to prepare a realistic study plan. It also helps families organise travel and other commitments during the examination period. With more than 46 lakh students registered across both classes, the date sheet is an important update for schools throughout the country.
CBSE has prepared the 2027 examination schedule after completing the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) by affiliated schools. The board explained that the final subject combinations selected by students were considered while preparing the timetable.

The examinations will be conducted from 10:30 AM onwards (Indian Standard Time). Students should carefully check the subject-wise date sheet to know the exact examination date for each paper. The notice confirms the overall starting date, but candidates should refer to the official PDF for their individual subject schedules.
This year, the board has taken several factors into account while preparing the timetable. Adequate gaps have been provided between commonly selected subjects in both classes. CBSE has also considered the schedules of major entrance examinations so that Class 12 students can complete their board examinations before preparing for those tests.
Another important consideration was the number of students appearing at individual examination centres. The board has tried to avoid clashes between subjects chosen by the same student. It has also planned the schedule to reduce the prolonged absence of teachers from their schools during the evaluation process.
According to the official notice, more than 26.5 lakh students in Class 10 and over 19.8 lakh students in Class 12 have registered for the 2027 Board Examinations. This means that more than 46 lakh students are expected to take part in the examinations.
CBSE has released the date sheet 101 days before the examinations begin. The board believes this early announcement will help students manage their studies, reduce examination-related stress and improve preparation. Schools will also get more time to organise academic activities and make arrangements for their roles as examination centres.
Students should download the official date sheet and check the dates for all their registered subjects. They should also follow any subsequent instructions issued by CBSE regarding practical examinations, admit cards and examination-day guidelines.
The CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2027 are scheduled to start on 16 February 2027. Students are advised to use the additional preparation time wisely and avoid relying on unofficial examination schedules.
