The movement launched by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) to express insult over the country's education system is now set to reach Pune, the educational hub of Maharashtra. The organisation's founder, Abhijit Dipke, has announced that a protest demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be held at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on June 11.
This marks the CJP's second major protest initiative following the recent demonstration at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. The organisation declares that the Union Education Minister should accept moral responsibility for the proposed irregularities in various examinations.
The Cockroach Janata Party has announced that a protest will be held on the campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune on June 11. The organisation has appealed to supporters via social media, urging a large number of students and young people to participate in the event. The protest is scheduled to begin at 4 PM.
Abhijeet Dipke has stated that if the Education Minister does not resign by June 13, the agitation will be expanded. He plans to personally visit various states and cities across the country to participate in protest activities. Dipke declared that the movement's objective is only to ensure accountability and highlight the concerns of students.
CJP took to the streets for the first time moving beyond online platforms through a protest held at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on June 6. The organisation claims that thousands of people participated in that event. Now, the decision to organise a protest in Pune is being viewed as the next phase of the movement.
According to Deepak, if the demands are not met even after the Pune event, the agitation could spread to other cities. He indicated that programs might be organised across various states, peaceful student protests would be held, and a major demonstration could take place in Delhi again in the future. However, the organisation has stated that all activities will be conducted peacefully.
Dipak believes that issues about the education and employment of the youth are not receiving good attention in the country's politics. In his view, there is a need to increase job opportunities, ensure transparency in examinations, address students' concerns, and re-evaluate government priorities. He has highlighted these very issues as the core demands of the movement.
When asked to compare the situation with recent youth movements in neighbouring countries, Deepak stated that the CJP's program is entirely peaceful. According to him, the Delhi protest also concluded peacefully, and future activities will be conducted in the same manner. The organisation maintains that it seeks to voice its demands through democratic means.
