NTA Grievance Advisory 2026: Application Number, Registered Email Mandatory

NTA Grievance Advisory 2026: Application Number, Registered Email Mandatory

For many candidates, lodging a complaint with the NTA regarding examination-related issues is a common practice. However, resolving these issues becomes difficult when the necessary identification details are missing from the complaint. Addressing this, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory for candidates.

The agency states that it receives a large volume of grievances daily via email and social media; yet, many of these complaints lack the information required to identify the candidate, making it impossible to locate the relevant application and provide a prompt response.

The NTA has said that it receives a large volume of grievances daily via email and various social media channels. However, not all complaints contain essential information—such as the candidate's application number, registered email address, or the name of the examination. This makes it difficult for officials to locate a specific candidate's application among millions of applicants, potentially leading to delays in verifying the issue or providing a response.

To avoid this situation, the NTA has pointed out the importance of candidates providing complete identifying details when submitting grievances. In short, the clearer and more specific the complaint, the easier it becomes to identify the relevant application.

According to the NTA advisory, specific points must be kept in mind when submitting a grievance. Failure to include these details may make it difficult to trace the candidate's application.

Firstly, the grievance must be sent from the same registered email ID used to submit the examination application form. The NTA directly advises against using any other personal or alternative email ID.

Secondly, the Application Number must be mentioned in the email's subject line. Additionally, the name of the examination related to the issue must be clearly stated.

Thirdly, the core issue of the grievance should be explained clearly and shortly. Instead of providing lengthy, irrelevant details, it is more effective to clearly outline the actual problem, where the issue occurred, and the type of assistance the candidate is searching.

The NTA has also advised candidates to attach supporting screenshots or documents to their grievances as needed. Screenshots may be attached to substantiate claims regarding technical errors, application-related issues, or other matters.

However, it is advisable to verify that the attachment is accurate and relevant to the specific grievance before submitting it. Sending unnecessary or unclear documents could actually make it difficult to understand the issue.

It is helpful to structure the grievance email clearly by organising the information into distinct sections. For instance, the email should begin by mentioning the application number and the name of the examination. Next, the issue should be explained in two or three clear sentences.

If a technical error or any other problem has occurred, a screenshot can be attached. Finally, it is advisable to briefly state the type of clarification or assistance the candidate is seeking.

The key is to ensure that the grievance is not unknown and that NTA officials can easily identify the candidate using their application number and registered email address.

Candidates need to keep the following points in mind when submitting a grievance:

  • Send the grievance from your registered email ID.
  • Include the Application Number in the email subject line.
  • Clearly specify which examination the grievance relates to.
  • Explain the issue briefly and clearly.
  • Attach screenshots or supporting documents if necessary.
  • Send the grievance to the dedicated helpdesk email address for the specific examination.
  • Verify the helpdesk email address from the official website or the Information Bulletin.
