SSC Stenographer Exam City Details 2026 Released: How to Check Exam City

Important updates have been released for candidates appearing in the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Examination 2026. Information regarding the examination city has been made available on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

According to the Commission's notification dated August 31, 2026, the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Tier-I examination will be held from September 9 to September 12, 2026. Candidates can view their examination city details via the specified login module.

The announcement regarding exam city details is significant for candidates, as knowing the exam centre's location in advance makes planning for travel, accommodation, and the exam day itself much easier.

However, it is important to note that exam city details and the Admission Certificate (or Admit Card) are not the same thing. The SSC has stated that the Admission Certificate for this examination will generally be available for download two to three days before the scheduled exam date.

Candidates can now view the examination city details for the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Tier-I Examination 2026. Candidates are required to log in to the SSC portal to check information regarding their exam city. The Commission clearly announced this in a notification dated August 31.

The Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Tier-I examination is scheduled to be held from September 9 to September 12, 2026. Therefore, it is advisable for candidates to check their exam city and plan their travel arrangements well in advance.

Many candidates begin their exam preparation only after receiving their admit cards. However, if the exam is scheduled in a major city, securing train or bus tickets and accommodation at the last minute can be difficult.

Checking the exam city details in advance provides at least a basic idea of the location. This is particularly beneficial for planning travel time, estimating costs, and arranging accommodation beforehand, especially when travelling from another district or state.

However, one cannot simply head to the exam venue based only on the city name. It is essential to consult the Admission Certificate for details regarding the specific exam centre, reporting instructions, and other important information.

According to the SSC notification dated August 31, 2026, the Admission Certificate for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination 2026 is scheduled to be available for download two to three days before the respective exam date.

In other words, after checking the exam city details, the next important step for candidates is to await the release of the Admit Card. The Admit Card will contain the specific exam centre, date, time, and instructions required for entry into the examination. Therefore, it would be incorrect to assume that exam preparations are complete simply by viewing the city information.
