An important update has come out for students searching for admission to the 11th grade in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department has initiated the application process for the first round of FYJC Admissions for the year 2026.
Students are able to apply online for both CAP (Centralised Admission Process) and quota-based admissions starting from May 21. This timeframe is of critical importance for those who have passed Class 10 and wish to enrol in a Junior College. The deadline for submitting applications has been set for 5:00 PM on May 22, 2026.
I believe it is essential to have a clear understanding of this admission process, as every year, numerous students face difficulties due to misinformation or a failure to apply within the specified time. FYJC admission is not only a standard enrollment procedure; it serves as the foundational step toward choosing a future academic stream, be it Science, Commerce or Arts.
What is Maharashtra FYJC Admission 2026?
Through the FYJC (First Year Junior College) admission process, students in Maharashtra get the opportunity to enrol in Class 11 across the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams. This entire admission process is conducted through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
Once again, the Maharashtra Board has announced that there will be a total of three regular rounds. Additionally, there will be an Open to All round, as well as a special fifth round exclusively for girls.
