Maharashtra FYJC Admission 2026 Round 2 Begins; List of Vacant Seats to be Released Today

An important update has been released for the lakhs of students in Maharashtra awaiting Class 11 admission. The School Education and Sports Department, Maharashtra, has announced the schedule for the second round of the FYJC (First Year Junior College) admission process for the 2026-27 academic year.

The application process for CAP Round 2 will run from June 6 to June 9, 2026. Students who did not secure a seat in the first round, whose applications were cancelled, or who were unable to complete their registration earlier are eligible to participate in this round.

I am writing about this because the FYJC admission process is a crucial stage in higher secondary education in Maharashtra. Every year, lakhs of students rely on this centralised admission system to secure a place in their preferred junior colleges. It is vital for students to be aware of the second-round schedule, details regarding vacant seats, and key dates. Failure to apply on time could result in missing out on a valuable academic year.

FYJC Round 2 is primarily open to students who did not secure a seat in the first round, had their applications cancelled or rejected, failed to complete registration within the mentioned time, or wish to apply afresh. These students will have the opportunity to select colleges again through CAP Round 2.

The FYJC admission process has received a good response this year. According to government data, over 12.51 lakh students across Maharashtra registered for admission to Class 11. Of these, approximately 4.51 lakh students secured seats and confirmed their admissions during the first round. The first round of the admission process concluded on June 3.

The list of vacant seats in various junior colleges for students will be published on June 6. With the release of this list, students will be able to see how many seats are available in each college and better prepare their preference lists. This information is particularly important before applying for the second round.

Students will be able to make necessary corrections to the Part I form during the second round of applications. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for new students to register. So, those who were previously unable to apply for any reason will also be able to participate in the admission process this time.

Maharashtra FYJC Round 2 Admission 2026: Some Important Dates

The Education Department has announced that the schedule for CAP Round 3 will be released after the end of the second round. A list of seats remaining vacant after the second round will be published on June 19. Therfore, the admission process for the third round will commence based on these vacant seats.
