Maharashtra TET 2026 Postponed After Question Paper Leak Suspicion

Pune, June 27: Just a day before the scheduled Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026, the Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSCE) announced the postponement of the examination following suspected question paper leak allegations.

The examination, which was set to be held on June 28 across 1,028 examination centres in Maharashtra, has been deferred to ensure fairness and maintain the credibility of the recruitment process.

According to the official statement, acting on confidential intelligence, police in Bhiwandi conducted a raid early Friday morning. During the operation, authorities reportedly recovered material that appeared to contain questions matching those prepared for the TET examination. A criminal case has since been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway.

MSCE stated that although extensive security measures had been put in place, the Council decided to postpone the exam in the interest of transparency and to protect the interests of lakhs of aspiring teachers.

“The integrity of the examination is our highest priority. A thorough investigation will be completed before announcing a fresh examination date,” the Council said in its notification.

Candidates have been advised not to panic and to regularly check the official MSCE website for updates regarding the revised examination schedule.

The postponement has disappointed many candidates who had spent months preparing for the examination, but education experts believe the decision is necessary to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.
