The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) published the results of the SSC, or Class 10, examinations on May 8. This year, the state's overall pass percentage stood at 94.96 per cent, a figure that has sent a positive signal throughout the education sector.
Hundreds of thousands of students appeared for this examination, and the announcement of the results has created an atmosphere of relief and joy in countless households. Much like the previous year, girls have once again outperformed boys in terms of pass percentage, thereby highlighting yet again the consistent success of girls in the field of education.
According to data released by the Maharashtra Board, the overall pass percentage in the 2026 SSC examination stands at 94.96 per cent. An analysis of the results across various districts reveals that several divisions have topped the state's average pass percentage. Student performance remained consistent this year as well; according to the Board, this improvement has been made possible due to the expansion of educational opportunities across different regions of the state.
The Maharashtra Board has reported that the pass rate among female students is significantly higher than that of their male matches. This trend has been observed over the past several years.
According to educationists, there are several key factors behind this phenomenon: increased school attendance rates among girls, a growing emphasis on education within families, various government and private educational assistance schemes, the expansion of education into rural areas, and the accessibility of digital learning resources.
Currently, many young women are not only achieving excellent results in examinations but are also making strides in fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Civil Services, and Technology.
Students who are dissatisfied with their marks may apply for Answer Sheet Verification and Re-evaluation, in accordance with the Board's regulations. This presents a significant opportunity for many students, as errors in mark tabulation or issues with answer evaluation can sometimes occur.
Following the publication of the SSC results, the Class 11 admission process is now set to begin. Junior colleges and Higher Secondary Schools will very soon publish admission-related notifications. Competition is expected to be particularly intense for the Science stream; therefore, students are advised to apply in a timely method.
