The National Testing Agency (NTA) has finally announced the new date for the re-exam of NEET UG 2026. Within just a few days of the cancellation of the NEET UG examination originally held on May 3, due to allegations of a question paper leak, the NTA informed that the re-examination will be held on June 21, 2026. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the mental well-being of students and a transparent examination system are now the government's top priorities. This examination, which involves the future of over 22,00,000 candidates, has started a common discussion across the country.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that the interests and mental well-being of students are being accorded the highest priority. To this end, a fair examination process will be ensured, efforts will be made to reduce excessive pressure on students, and focus will be placed on establishing a transparent system. It has been reported that, following this statement, many examinees have felt a sense of relief.
The NTA has clearly clarified that no additional fee will be charged for the new examination. Candidates who registered for the May 3rd examination and successfully submitted their applications will be able to directly appear for the June 21st examination. In other words, there is no need for a fresh application or a new payment.
